A satellite telephone, sat phone or satellite phone, is a kind of communication device that links to the telephone network or other phones by radio via orbiting satellites rather than terrestrial cell sites. Satellite phones can be used in a variety of ways and the services that are offered depend on the satellite service provider. A common type of communication service provided is voice over internet protocol (VoIP). This service enables users to make voice calls to long distances with regular land lines and other regular devices such as cordless telephones.

picture services.
