Plot seeder is a type of equipment used for planting the
seed in straight rows by properly drilling the soil. This helps in enhancing
the yield of the land and also helps in various agriculture activities such as
nutrient application, weeding, or harvesting.
The growing adoption of advanced agriculture equipment and
increasing demand for food due to the growing population is driving the growth
of the plot seeders market. According to the United Nation, the world's
population is expected to increase by 2 billion persons in the next 30 years,
from 7.7 billion currently to 9.7 billion in 2050. Plot seeders play a
significant role in minimizing the wastages of seeds and increases crop
yielding and harvesting. Moreover, it also reduces the turnaround time required
for the seedling. Furthermore, other advantages such as this seeder equipment
can plant the seed in multiple rows in very little time by distributing them
evenly and accurately is further anticipated to foster the growth of the plot
seeders market.
The Asia Pacific is projected to gain significant growth
over the forecast period and this is attributed to the expanding agriculture
industry in the region. According to the India Brand Equity Foundation, Agriculture
is the primary source of livelihood for about 58% of India’s population. Gross
Value Added (GVA) by agriculture, forestry and fishing were estimated at Rs.
19.48 lakh crore (US$ 276.37 billion) in FY20 (PE). Essential agricultural
commodities export for the April-September period of 2020 increased by 43% to
Rs. 53,626 crore (US$ 7.3 billion) over Rs. 37,397 crore (US$ 5.1 billion) in
the same period last year
Key Developments:
1. In February 2020, Amazone has launched a number of specialty
machines in time for seeding. The new GreenDrill 501 universal seeder is ideal
for the one-pass sowing of 'catch crops', fine seeds, and undersown crops when
used in combination with a trailed cultivator
2. In January 2018, Precision Planting launched three new
products and a new research facility during its Winter Conference in Tremont,
Ill. By this equipment farmers now have access to the new 20/20 monitor, mSet
for multi-hybrid planting, and SeederForce for air seeders
3. In February 2020, Wintersteiger, the field trial technology,
and Delair, a provider of visual data management solutions announced their
partnership to provide the combined power of turnkey agricultural research
equipment and visual data management solutions to seed breeding and production
companies, universities, research institutes, and agrochemical companies.
